About Small Project Support Grant. This  program provides grants in the range of 5K-25K to Black & Indigenous led organizations in Massachusetts to support short term projects, pilot new approaches to carry out their organizational mission, build organizational membership and increase community engagement. 



Program Goals: 


  • Assist in building organizational membership & increase community engagement to support organizational sustainability & growth.
  • Support facilitation of piloting innovative approaches within organizations participating in the grant program.
  • Foster leadership development and capacity building within participating organizations.
  • Promote knowledge sharing and best practices within the network of organizations affiliated with the Black & Indigenous Resistance Fund.
  • Encourage  collaboration and partnerships between Black & Indigenous-led organizations in various regions of Massachusetts
  • Allocate grants ranging from $5,000 - $25,000 for participating organizations.


Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered for Small Project Grant:


  • Organizations must be a non-profit in Massachusetts with executive-level Black and/or Indigenous leadership.
  • Organizations must have a minimum of 51% of their executive leadership, management, and trustees/board from Black and/or Indigenous communities.

Timeline:

  • We will be accepting applications until August 17th, 2024. Applicants will receive email confirmation of their submission.
  • Review, deliberation and candidate conversation process: September - October 2024
  • Announcement and grant disbursement: November 2024
